The Pleasantville Community Garden has been growing and collecting fresh produce since June 2014 and has hit a great new milestone! The organization was the brainchild of Devin Juros who wanted to do something to help hunger in his area. He found out that 20% of Westchester County, NY is food insecure and he decided that this was wrong. With his father, he founded the organization and built their first garden in 2014 with help from more than 100 people from the community. Since then the organization has grown and in 2 1/2 years - has hit this amazing milestone! The organization donates to a number of local food sharing organizations and has help from more than 200 volunteers annually who help to plant, weed, harvest, collect, deliver and promote the organization.
